chippy lane 10 year birthday
March 6th - Sherman Theatre
Celebrate a decade of bold, brilliant Welsh theatre as Chippy Lane marks its 10th Birthday.
For ten years, Chippy Lane Productions has been championing Welsh new writing in Wales and London – and this landmark anniversary is celebrated with a vibrant, one-night-only event. Join us for an exhilarating evening of readings that showcase the richness, range and fearless spirit of contemporary Welsh writing, performed by some of Wales’s most exciting actors, directors and creatives.
The evening will feature work by Gary Owen, Faebian Averies, Katie Elin-Salt, Greg Glover, Jacob Hodgkinson, Paisley Jackson, Kevin Jones, Sherrall Morris, Martha Reed and Rhys Warrington. This is a rare opportunity to experience exceptional new writing brought to life by an outstanding ensemble, all in one celebratory event.
Founded in 2016 by Cardiff-born actor, writer and Artistic Director Rebecca Jade Hammond, Chippy Lane Productions was created to build a community of Welsh and Wales-based artists telling authentic Welsh stories. Named after Cardiff’s iconic Caroline Street – affectionately known as Chippy Lane – the company draws inspiration from a place alive with late-night technicolour, characters and stories.
Over the past decade, Chippy Lane has become known for nurturing emerging talent, championing female and non-binary writers through the Welsh Female Writers’ Programme, producing new work and building community through live performances, podcasts and scratch nights.
Join us for a one-of-a-kind evening that honours the past, celebrates the present and looks boldly to the future of Welsh theatre.
